Complex checks of churches by law enforcement agencies became frequent

On the Councilof the Russian Baptist Union which has taken place on March 19-21, 2013 in Moscow the message about frequent complex checks of churches by law enforcement agencies was made.

On this matter the head of legal service of Russian Baptist Union Anatoly  Pchelintsev who urged pastors to study federal laws and the law on prosecutor's office and to be ready to such checks.

The 25th article of the law "About the Freedom of Worship" and the 148th article of the Criminal Code regulate the relations of the religious organizations and prosecutor's office. Checks can carry out: prosecutor, deputy prosecutor, assistant prosecutor.

The 137th article of the Criminal Code, forbids to interfere in private life therefore churches shouldn't provide personal information of members of churches.
